Great week, tuesday night we had an awesome dinner appointment, we bore our testimonies and it was powerful.  wednesday we did lots of biking around and Elder Parkers bike pedal kept falling off (he uses the same bike my trainer used). Later that day w ehad 2 great lessons. Everyone we teach, the members, and our misison president love our companionship, me and Elder Parker are practically brothers. We even burp at the same time.  thursday we had inspections then we worked on our video were making about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Had a good dinner with some people who dont usually come to church and we had a great lesson using salt, pepper and a spoon.  Friday we had a great district council. Then we worked more on our video. Then we had a good dinner, a lady told me part of the reason she hasnt left the church is because she liked me as a missionary haha, little strange. Then w evisited a friend of ours who doesnt usually come to church and he gave us $20. Then we...

Had another great lesson with another girl we teach. We ordered dominos to a man who doesnt come to church and we showed up and told him that pizza was coming and he didnt believe us, then it showed up and we had a good time.  Thursday we biked a bunch and visited people and ate some salted nut bars and nachos at the gas station. That night i interviewed a lady thats gonna get baptized.  Friday we had a good district council, got a new sister in the district. Then we ate at a pizza place then we did...

We just ate a good lunch here at Buffalo wild wings, and explored the capital a little bit.  Downtown Boise is always interesting.  Its been an awesome week. Me and Elder Parker get along super well so it makes it a blast.  We have found the nice median of having one of the most joyful times of our life but also following the Holy Ghost and getting things done.  Monday we had played chair soccer with our district and had a pizza delivered to us by a church member which was great. We had a good lesson with a kid who is 8 thats getting baptized soon.  Tuesday we had interviews with our misison president, our mission president is a great man, but he scared me at first because he started with "Elder Jensen, I read your letter to me and it seems like you dont have a care in the world....about anything that would stop you from getting the work done and finding joy!".  We got back on bikes since Tuesday too since it got warmer and thats been fun. At one p...

Staying in Amity, training, auoras, baptism!

It has been quite the week for me out here in Boise.  From monday to wednesday I was with some awesome elders in another area and we switched off working in our different areas, and we got to drive around in there car which was nice. Im used to walking in the cold so a car is luxury haha.  We got a mission conference phone call (whole mission on one call) and our boundaries are getting changed July 1st along with our mission president. Whole mission is pretty much moving west to Nampa, and the nampa mission is getting dissolved.  On my last night with the trio we met a member of the church who "read our auoras". Its something thats hard to explain but it happened and it was very very deep and spiritual.  I found out im staying in amity (so ill be here 6 months in a few weeks) and im training a newish Elder from Canada. We get along real well and have a joyful time.  Saturday I had the priviledge of being able to baptize 2 people I taught in my last are...

Christmas, Temporary Trio

Image
Its been quite the week. So we had a good christmas Tuesday and I got to call the family which was great. Ate a bunch of food and we caroled with some other missionaries that night too which was fun. Nothing much happened from Christmas to Thursday.  Elder Allen finished his mission and left this morning, then as of last night I joined some other missionaries to make a trio. So Im not even in my area but Im in another one, so its pretty interesting.  I also talked in Church yesterday about the Atonement (The mission Christ had in paying for our sins and making it possible to live with our Father in Heaven again) and that was pretty great. Ive realized I love talking about the gospel with pretty much anyone.  The mission is the life, Its super joyful. It can be tough at times but its worth it. Love you all, Follow our savior, stay positive!

Great week this week, as far as actual missionary work it was as slow as last week. December has been very very slow but we still make sure to work and have fun. I got to spend a day with my trainer Elder Thompson, hes really good at talking and teaching. Found a new lady to teach and we were able to teach her but now shes out of town for a couple weeks. Me and Elder Allen helped a man fix his chimney cap, we were screwing it in and Elder Allen was laughing at something and farted like 5 times in a row so then we both started cracking up and the older gentlemen couldnt hear us and said "you guys are having way too much fun up there". We went caroling with the youth again wednesday, we all were out of tune but it was fun. Someone from my last area was driving by us while we were walking on the side of the road and we got to talk, him and his family are doing way better so it was awesome to see that. We helped a lady get a her lost dog back by just calling her name, then once s...

Fishing and Caroling

This week was good, we were a little more busy which was nice. We have many people to teach but they all have something thats slowing their progress down. We found one man who has been taught for years and years but has never gotten baptized.  Talked to many people this week too, something Ive really learned to do on the mission is talking to strangers. Its been a nice talent to develop.  We got to go caroling with some youth wednesday night which was fun, we let the younger guys go ding dong ditch everyone so they could open their doors and hear us singing, most people just shut their doors after 5 seconds haha. We met a guy who is a comedian and just having a regular conversation with him is pretty hilarious. We had a christmas party saturday morning and got to pass out more LTW cards with different service ideas written on them.  We also got to help an older man we teach set up his family history account, he was having trouble with his iphone then we actually had...
