3 weeks in one! - The Missing Emails

Image
TJ must've had too many people in the outgoing email line because these emails didn't go out - here's 3 weeks' worth! Mission Tour! - June 4 Great week this week, like always. Last week on Wednesday we did lots of book work but got it all finished up.  Thursday we had a mission tour which is when one of the 70 (people chosen by apostles to help with the lords work) it was Elder Brian K. Taylor and he has taught us lots. Since Im the newest missionary on the Boise side of Idaho, Elder Brian K. Taylor liked to use me as an example of things.  That night we gave one of our investigators a priesthood blessing, which is always a great experience. Amazing how real priesthood power is.  Friday we did some service and helped out lots of african refugees with donations. Then that day we got another lady we teach on date for baptism which is sweet, taught another lady that night about having enough faith in christ to be able to quit smoking, the holy ghost was felt very ...

Been a great week this week, got tons of stuff done as always.  Monday  we played volleyball and some chair soccer with our district.  Tuesday  me and Elder Thompson started off the day with some studies at the church.  We felt prompted to bring 2 book of mormons with us to the church building. We brought them and while we studied 3 refugees from Kenya came up to the door, they needed directions and we helped them then we taught them about the book of mormon and they wanted not one book, but two.  Later that day we were making visits and we spotted a wiener dog running around. Work was going slow so we decided to follow it. As we were following the dog we thought of a boy we could go visit. A mile later this dog ran to the door of the boys house we were gonna go in. Then the boy opened the door and it happened to be his dog a mile away. Pretty interesting haha.  Then we aqgain felt like grabbing a book of mormon and carrying it with us which is n...

Week 8!

Just another week up here in Boise! Been extremely busy,  Thursday  was nuts.  So we got out of our morning lesson and elder Thompsons bike tire was flat for the 2 billionth time so we started walking and we had to do service 45 minutes away  in 30 minutes . We prayed for help and not even 10 minutes passed and a church member picked us up, replaced the bike tube, and got us to our service.  After our service we went on to do a bunch more stuff, we were so busy we only spent 30 minutes of our day that day eating. And while we ate we studied. Then it topped off with a great lesson with a investigator. Then we needed our mission president to call us that night before 1030 to give us word on some things we needed. So we prayed he would be prompted to call us,  10 minutes later  he called. Such great blessings, god hears us all for sure.  Been doing lots of bookwork lately too, which isnt too fun but its necessary. Last week we visited the BSU...

Week 7, first baptism! Free bike!

Hey everyone, have had a great week.  To start off I went to my first baptism here in Boise of our little man and Investigator. Hes a great 9 year old boy who was able to decide to be baptized. The holy ghost was felt very strongly.  The next day the bike I have been borrowing from a family decided to let me have it, I offered them money but they knew I couldnt afford how much it was worth. The church members are very nice and helpful out here.  We did plenty of service this week at a thrift store warehouse, a refugee donation company and shoveled dirt for the one and only Big Reds new pool.  We had plenty of lessons this week and we are planning to have another baptism  this saturday  too. Then another baptism possibly in a few weeks. Very busy out here!  Rained a few times while we were walking/biking and got our white shirts messy but its all good.  We have been teaching a lady thats a little slower and she thought in the new testam...

2nd week as greenie

This week has been pretty sweet, we got our bikes fixed up then Elder Thompsons bike tire tube went flat after about 2 days of riding so we were back to walking. We got 2 baptisms coming up this month which is awesome. Our investigators all showed up to church which makes us happy.I got to bear my testimony in both my wards which was fun. Had my first district meeting wednesday. Were now getting fed dinner nearly every night by members now. We got exchanges later this week which will be fun (when missionaries swap companions for a day). Me and Elder Thompson stay super busy every day which is wonderful. Thats about it, nothing too crazy happened this week, just busy and joyful out here in Boise Central. Love you all, and god bless! --  From Elder Jensen

Jambo everyone!  Its been a busy past several days but very awesome. Picked up on some Swahili too. My new missionary trainer is Elder Thompson and hes a great little dude from Gilbert Arizona. Hes taught me a whole lot, and we have had the opportunity to teach many.  We do so much stuff  in one day  that its too much to put in my journal at nights. Theres lots of refugees here so that has been cool to teach them, very humble people. We did some service too and gave out donations, weve done tons of walking around our assigned area since we are currently bikeless since elder thompsons last companion moved to Rupert with our church and bike lock keys, but i dont mind walking and the heat here is nothing compared to mesa.  As a missionary you see and hear lots of interesting things. We get cussed at, yelled at, honked at, silent treatment, but its all good. Being a missionary out here in Boise is great. We have a few investigators that come to church with us,...

https://www.mormonchannel.org/watch/series/mormon-messages/the-hope-of-gods-light Super excited to say im finally leaving to boise idaho  tomorrow . These 3 weeks have flew by and ive had a fun, and awesome experience here at the MTC. Ive had lots of cool experiences here and met so many great people from all over. My MTC district (group of 8 missionaries) are great people and i love them. Ive learned so much different stuff as far as inviting people to come closer to our savior Jesus Christ. Through him is the only way we will find true joy and happiness for eternity. This is something ive found out for myself an i just keep getting that reminder every day from god himself. He has a hand in all our lives. This week was filled with learning and lots of laughter. Visited the Provo Temple twice, we had some cool devotionals, me and my companion, Elder Nelson taught some missionaries about the creation of us and planet earth, and we taught about the fall of our first parents, adam a...
