"you can come in but it doesn't mean im coming back to church"
Monday: we drove around in a old chevy with some members, it was pretty sweet. Then that evening we had a lesson with a couple that sre coming back to church and ate pizza. After that we went to a guy we teach who is columbian and is learning english and with a translator we put him on date to be baptized.
Tuesday: we had a big meeting with a bunch of other missionaries, it was good just long. We had a good disscussion with a family that night that wanted to learn more about the church. Talked about many different gospel things.
Wednesday: we worked at the food bank and we got more free food which is awesome. We went to dinner with a family that had their son kidnapped while he was a Missionary in russia several years ago. We visited some people and we went to an Elderly ladys house who opened the door and said "you can come in but it doesn't mean im coming back to church". We told her we werent gonna make her come back to church. So then we sat down and she told us how she had been struggling so much and her children were telling her the church is false. She also told us shes been praying but hasnt found any answers. So after a long spiritual conversation she realized that her answer is at church then told us she would come to church.
Thursday: we saw a lady in her car in the middle of a lane looking down at her phone not moving anywhere with no hazard lights on or anything and traffic just drove around her. We should have gotten a video, after 5 minutes she drove forward and was still looking down and made it to the next light. It was the strangest thing ive seen all week. Met a guy with a photographic memory thats memorized all the bibles. That evening we met a girl who wants to get baptized soon. That night we taught the man whos getting baptized next month and we had a big help fron our pal google translate. I used little bit of gringo spanish.
Friday: we did lots of walking and visitng people. Had a lesson fall through but after that had an amazing lesson with a couple that are gonna get baptized eventually.
Saturday: a man we teach drove us back down to my last area in amity and we got to go to a girl i teach's baptism. It was great to see her make that commitment after she waited a good while before her parents let her be baptized. It was also great to see my last companion and some other church membere i know.
Sunday: we were able to give the same girl the gift of the Holy Ghost, which is very special, Holy Ghost is pretty important in my life anyways. Then after that we had some people we teach come to church which was awesome. Later that day we visited a lady who is going through some serious struggles and we were able to pray with her. As a Missionary thats one thing you get to do, is to see people at their worst times in life and vice versa. It will definitely humble you.
Well it was a good week, I've learned more in the past 11 months about life and the gospel then I think I may have in my whole life. You can learn lots from the people around you. Recently I've been praying to see people the way the savior does, and to even see myself the way my savior does. A friend of mine suggested i do that and its been great, I've learned more and more to put away the natural tendency to judge others and just treat them the way Jesus Christ would. Love you all!
