Flat earth theorist
It was great week this week! Got lots done and met many different types of people. Always an adventure out here
Tuesday: walked a lot, it started pouring on us, gave a lady a blessing while she was in a medical indused coma. The Holy Ghost was suoer strong during that. Then after that a member drove us around and we visuted a family and now were gonna start teaching their daughter.
Wednesday: on our way to the food bank a guy came up to us and started telling us how he had served a mission but after the mission him and his parents got into an argument and then he left the church. He said hes been getting weird feelings he needs to come back, then he said after he had felt the weird feeling he saw us walking down the street. Ate some good ribs that night too. We taught the guy we teach from Columbia about what happens after death that night with the help of a spanish speaking return Missionary.
Thursday: planned for the week, had our interviews with our mission president. Then we taught another person about what happens after we die and why were on earth. Then we had our Book of Mormon class with some people that night
Friday: i spent the day with another Missionary. We talked to a bunch of people and we had a couple on the street tell us they have been praying the prophet gets rid of everything except the bible so the world can be a happier place. Very interesting. We also met a guy who was like "guys nobody else will hear me out on this, but maybe you guys will" and then told us how the earth is actually flat, Nasa is a fraud, they never actually went to the moon and that we all live in a big dome. Then he told us how Joseph Smith was also a fraud. So we gave him a few bible verses to re-read haha. Then that night we were walking in an area to see some people and then we realized it was late and then our cell reception cut out. But we got to a members house that drove us back.
Saturday: we talked to many people, helped a lady by taming out old furniture and going with a member to drop it off at a landfill. Then that night we had a great lesson about the Book of Mormon with the guy from columbia
Sunday: we had a couple people come to church which was good to see. Theres nothing better then seeing people we teach come and actually want to learn more and find more friends in the church. Even our columbian friend doesnt understand half of what everyones saying but he loves it. We did lots of paperwork stuff after church. Had a good dinner with a man who used to be a correctional officer and he knows how to karate chop someones neck so he did a light one on my neck and made my vision go weird for a little. Pretty fun. Thats about all I got for this week, love you all! Actually I have a quote that came to mind from the Addiction Recovery 12 step manual:
“No matter what the source of difficulty and no matter how you begin to obtain relief—through a qualified professional therapist, doctor, priesthood leader, friend, concerned parent, or loved one—no matter how you begin, those solutions will never provide a complete answer. The final healing comes through faith in Jesus Christ and His teachings, with a broken heart and a contrite spirit and obedience to His commandments”
-Richard G. Scott
I know that quote is true! I know it because I've lived it, and now I at least do my best to explain it to others!
This morning we went on a little adventure too
