Dogs, Grandview, Haunted House

Its been quite an adventure with Elder Bethers, we've been having tons of fun and getting work done.

Tuesday we did service at the Idaho Youth Ranch and since we werendressed up in ties and white shirts they let us dress up in whatever clothes we wanted so of course we had to go all out. Grabbed a shirt that says "Shake It Baby". Got to play some baseball with the special needs group since they were low on players.

Wednesday we had a great council on obedience to the Lords commandments and mission rules. Had a great lesson about Christ with a guy that wants to get baptized. Then we taught another man at a park who told us how he used to have this million dollar stamp and how he made an invention that he sold to the FBI and that hes also a great grandson of Joseph Smith. Sprayed weeds for a random lady we met. We were trying to visit someone in this one house and they had 2 big dogs and a medium size dog all barking and growling at us and we almost decided not to go but we prayed the dogs would feel the Holy Ghost as we walked and sure enough 1 by 1 they went from growling and barking to letting us pet them.

Thursday we went to a little town called Grandview. Im a city boy so grandview was different. Were not sure what we inhaled or ate on accident but we got to Grandview and we laughed and felt goofy for about an hour straight in our car. Then we went to visit some people but we realized theres not addresses on most houses, the spirit told us to go to a random house and so we did and sure enough we found a family we were searching for. Cool how that works. There was also digs without collars that would silently walk over to us and our car. We stopped by an old abandoned house thing and got pictures. Then we visited a man who wanted to learn more about us so we talked to him and when we prayed with him he cried and told us how much he could feel the holy spirit from oir prayer. Then we were searching for someone else in Mountain home and the spirit agsin told us to try a random house and we did and it wasnt the lady we were searching for, but it was a lady who told us that she is catholic but she realized the house they had moved into is haunted (their home has been around for a hundred years and used to be a place where they performed abortions in the 20s) and she said she reached out to the catholic church, title company, and even the newspaper and they all turned her down and told her to forget about it. So when we told her we could help she was pretty happy.

Friday we trimmed a ladys rose bush, taught a truck driver that wants to get baptized soon, a guy gave us some stolen papers from the VA and claimed they had Trumps signature on them and will be worth lots someday (pretty sure its just a stamp), helped a family move boxes who thought our Jesus is named "Jo Smith" , and that we worship a god named Mormon haha.

Saturday we met our new mission President in Boise, then we went and talked to a man who was getting mad because someone stole his stuff so he called the cops, later in the day we went to the haunted house and we talked with the couple that lived there, as we talked some uninvited guests were strolling around upstairs, then we prayed and brought in the Holy Spirit, it was interesting to see the contrast of it against very negative and sad energy. But we got the feeling it would take more then a prayer and some scriptures to spiritually clear the house. She loved the Holy Spirt we brought so much she wanted us to stay the night in her extra room in her haunted house haha.

Well there you go, read John 14:6, one of my favorites, its when Christ is talking to Thomas and he explains simply that its through him we are saved.
